Yesterday (6/27) I went into the travel clinic and hopefully got all of the shots that I'll need! In shot form I got menengitis (spelling?) yellow fever and a polio booster. I have to take the typhoid vaccine orally and then I have a prescription to test the malaria pills and if they don't make me go crazy, I'll be using them. Ya! The first two men. and yellow fever stung and then tensed up, but it didn't burt as bad as I thought it would. The last one was on my other arm, the polio booster and that one was the worst. My arms are sore still, not as bad as yesterday, but I think just all the shots affected my stomach and I got a little sick. yipee.
As a warning for all of those about to go in: 1. Eat before you get your shots 2. Take 2 asprin before and 1 or 2 after. 3. Eat afterwards, like don't gorge yourself but keep your stomach on the fuller side of things. 4. The needles look big, but it doesn't hurt. 5. Move your arms around after, it'll help with the soreness. 6. Leave the bandaids on so you can get sympathy/ bravery points. If everybody is like oh my gosh why are your arms covered in bandaids? You can be all big and proud that you roughed it out :)
Yea for shots!
